Welcome to Anglia Steelcraft Anglia Steelcraft are a family run business based in Shefford, Bedfordshire. Our Ironwork products are of the highest standard in the industry, manufactured in our factory, benefiting from over 55 years experience in metalwork fabrication and bespoke construction.

Our success over recent years is due to our ability to perform constantly at a very high standard and by doing so we create constant repeat business. We cater for domestic and commercial clients, many of which are building contractors, councils and property management companies. We are very competitive in this industry, generally achieving 90% of the jobs we quote for. Like for like we can not be beaten on price.

We undertake contracts of all sizes from simple security grilles to railings, gates, fire escapes and balconies. We also offer complete automation options. All our work is hand crafted and therefore finalized with finish options to suit customer requirements. Being bespoke, ironwork products are made to order, manufactured from raw, bare materials with no stock items sold off the shelf. This means we can offer clients exactly what they require.

Everything we Fabricate is made to order for the job, we do not buy anything ready made. One of the main differences that separate us from other companies is we weld all our items on install, there is no other way to achieve this bespoke look. By welding on install we can eliminate the need for nuts and bolts from brought in items online like 99% of our competition.

Over the years we have been lucky enough to work for some great companies and customers. Giving us repeat work through the years. We have developed many close relationships including our friends at Hatfield House. We have completed all their steelwork for the past 16 years. From estate railings and automated gates to beacons and staircases. Always a lovely challenge working for them and the traditional designs and methods required.

In the past few years we have had a massive increase in the demand for fire escapes / metal staircases. Especially in the london area. At present we are constantly manufacturing these. Like for like on these we cannot be beaten on price and quality. All our items are extremely heavy duty.

Every fire escape is very different. We usually request some photos and a description of what you need via email first, whether it is a replacement of an existing staircase or a new item altogether. Once we have seen what you need, we will come back to you with recommendations and price options. Should you wish to go ahead then, we naturally visit and go over all the details.

We specialise in fire escape refurbishments in the london area.

Please note we do not manufacture spiral staircases.

Over the past 20 years as the laws and regs have changed on the disabled access to properties and new builds we find there is an increasing demand for the disabled access rails. Unlike most companies we manufacture these to the exact angle of the ramp built. We diamond core drill and set them into the concrete ramp, welding them together when installing. Our handrails are manufactured from the 42.3mm generally specified by building contractors. We curve and bend the rails to suit where needed for a bespoke finish. Most builders will just install scaffold poles and key clamps which are extremely ugly and very poor quality, and because they are bolted down always work their way loose in a short space of time.
